How to Subscribe to the Hash List

Send an e-mail message to listproc@usc.edu. You do not need to enter
anything in the subject line. In the body of the message, say Subscribe
hash-l Paul Flying Booger Woodford (use your own name, dummy).

You will receive an automated message from listproc@usc.edu, welcoming
you to the hash list (hash-l), and describing some subscriber options.

This should normally be the last message you'll receive from
listproc@usc.edu. From this point on, you will receive all messages
posted to hash-l@usc.edu, and you can post your own messages to same.
To post, just send mail to hash-l@usc.edu. Please do use the subject line
on messages to hash-l!

You may get as many as 50 hash-l messages daily. If the high volume of
messages posted to hash-l is too much for you, you can switch to digest
mode. In digest mode, you'll get one long message daily containing
all the individual posts to hash-l. To switch to digest mode, send a
message to listproc@usc.edu. Once again, you do not need to enter
anything in the subject line. In the body of the message, say
set hash-l mail digest.

Here are a couple of other useful subscriber commands (remember,
subscriber command messages go to listproc@usc.edu, not
hash-l@usc.edu:

- To find out who is currently subscribed to hash-l: review hash-l.

- To unsubscribe: unsubscribe hash-l.

- To switch back from digest mode to normal mode: set hash-l mail.

Have fun!
