Beer Near and Aid Stations

It's that time again; time to host the annual Rocket Shitty (Huntsville, Alabama) M-race aid station. It's a great way to support racists and to advertise our drinking club with a running problem using our large banner. We actually hand out the Gatorade and Gu at the table and then we hand out some beer a bit further down the road. And our founding father gets the choice of drinking it or wearing it (I douse him) as he passes the area. Until you've done it, you can't imagine how bad beer in your eyes feels after running 13.8 miles and having 12.4 miles to go. I've only done it once with a beer near, but don't even wish this dousing on Stray Dog.

This is only one of the two R-events that we support.  The other is a Memorial Day 10K that passes directly in front of our founder's home.  It's amazing how many racists mention that they love having a beer at the 5.1 mile marker on a day that is usually into the 70's. More folks recognize me from this event than any other.

Supporting Aid Stations is the least we can do to support possible future members.

As a side note, whenever a Rocket Shitty hare chooses a trail that follows any small portion of a local racist event he gets awarded a down-down for racism.  And in a town this small it's pretty difficult to avoid racist trails. Especially since there are a few ultra marathon's on the local dirt trails.

I've only run one R-event that handed out real beer afterward (California) and one that handed out near beer at the end (Atlanta). Give some thought to providing essential beverages to your running friends during any racist event. Just try to keep the cans out of public view if you live in a state that has laws against public drinking (i.e. Alabama).
